Welcome to Writings of the Heart. I’ve always loved to write poetry and short stories. This is a place to call home for my writings. I hope you enjoy reading them. 

I am recently retired and my husband and I bought a school bus and converted it into a motor home and sold our property and ran away from home to start a new adventure, and what an adventure it has been thus far! 

We are the parents of 9 grown children and 30 grandchildren, whom we adore, which has given me plenty of material for my musings and writings. You will get to know some of them through some of my writings, much to their chagrin.

Limericks

There once was a Halloween ghost Who wanted for breakfast some toast.  No Candy or jelly to fatten her belly.  Of her ghostly figure she’d boast. A belligerent student named Max On his school teacher’s chair put some tacks. His teacher sat down  And let out a howl. Then that boy named Max, he made tracks.  Two Tom turkeys in conversation Were letting out all their frustration “I flash for the ladies so they’ll have my babies To bring in a new generation.”           But…. There was a young feller called Scott. A thanksgiving Turkey he shot.  He’d be the big winner at thanksgiving dinner That Turkey would sure hit the spot.
